Do you see more and more resumes with candidate pictures….this idea was consider a no,no years ago and yet, I’m noticing this practice and wonder if the job search market will see a trend here.
I imagine this could open up a world of hurt for HR departments. Pictures on resumes should always be avoided for the same reason you should never list your age or race on your resume. The potential for possible discrimination lawsuits is often reason enough for any HR department to toss those in the bin immediately. Unless you’re auditioning for an acting job, then by all means.
I would agree that it is taboo to include a picture when applying for a job in the U.S. I will share that I used to live in Belgium and a picture was expected with each job application. The important thing is to know is what is expected in any country in which you may be applying for a job
